I think it's wonderful that you are able to foster and it must be really difficult to handle all the emotions sometimes. I don't think I'd be very successful. It really sounds like Lissa will do well in the new place and that would be great if it turns out to be permanent. :-)Hiking Houndshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364529045292356744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4890029005765166082.post-7939204286648430962012-01-13T18:17:43.655-07:002012-01-13T18:17:43.655-07:00See this is exactly why I would not make a good fo...See this is exactly why I would not make a good foster mom, my heart would be broken. My hat is off to you for handling this situation so well, I do realize it is the right opportunity for Lissa. I do hope you are able to keep abreast of Lissa's progress. I'm glad that Lissa is getting the care and attention of another one of her own specie and that you gave her all the love that she needed from you but I feel sad that your love wasn't enough for her and that you feel bad about it. She was longing for one of her own.

We all know that you didn't failed her, but she was there to teach you more experience that you were probably not ready for. Experience comes at a price. Time for another foster dog. Good luck with the next one. I know having fosters leave is tough. I always felt happy for mine when they went to their new homes, but also a little sad that they were leaving. We usually got new fosters pretty quickly, though, so sometimes we just enjoyed a little peace and quiet after some of the wild ones left! lol I hope you'll have a new foster soon!houndstoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02159272473651561647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4890029005765166082.post-51561082913666890832012-01-08T16:13:52.914-07:002012-01-08T16:13:52.914-07:00Greyhounds are so pack oriented. My heart aches for Lissa's potential feeling of abandonment, am sure you feel a loss with her gone plus you're feeling Lissa's pain as well.

I commend you and Lauren for the work you do in fostering dogs in need. Frankly I couldn't do it.
