I was amazed at how well my homemade dog treats went. (they are on the left side of the picture, dog bling/zipper pulls in the middle and rug hookings on the right) I took thirty some bags of peanut butter oatmeal biscuits and came home with only eight!
The dog bling/collar tags went over well, selling at least half of what I made. In truth, I have made the collar bling before as zipper pulls for two-footed humans and although my signage marketed them as Pet Bling, quite a few people bought them for themselves instead of their pets.
My rug hooked pillows and the rooster mat drew many favorable comments and I really think I came close to selling the rooster mat, but no. The pricing seems to turn some people off but I think they don't understand the 'art' of hooking.
I hadn't really thought I would sell any of the hookings, just wanted to get them out there to be seen. Goal accomplished!
And.....my final goal, one that I didn't even plan to happen today anyway........ I rode my bike.
It was AWESOME!
Great job all the way around! I knew you would do well! It's true about our hooked work......it takes the right customer who realizes the work and expense involved. I was shocked when you said you rode that bike.....but then I remembered you don't have 5 inches of snow on the ground LOL..... way to GO! Keep on ridin'!

Thanks Cathy!! And...it's not that I 'like' to sell my rugs, but I need to make money just to buy more to hook!!! Plus there's only so many empty spaces in ones home! I heard from back home today, (Indiana) that we got 3 inches. I do miss it when it's falling and so pretty on the ground, but I hate it when it starts to melt!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!!
Way to go Karen , you rode your bike. Good for you girl. So glad that you had a great sale and had fun. Your rugs are lovely.. JB
