Progress

I can't tell you how frustrating it is for me to be tied down to a walking cast and crutches.  I am a doer, a mover and a shaker.  Well.....my body shakes when it moves but that's another subject!  I just can't stand to sit still.

I am no longer taking pain pills, yay rah!  Went to the Doctor on Tuesday and was hoping to hear I didn't need crutches anymore but knowing full well that might not happen.   It didn't.  On those for two more weeks, uck.

But it's getting better.  I am making progress.

Dottie is still at camp.  They have a doggie door and a huge backyard to run in and other English Cockers to hang with.  A couple has expressed interest in adopting her and will be going to meet her on Saturday.  Sad for me, but progress for her.

I have more time to hook.

I whipped the edges of my crow rug finishing it.

Have finished the cat and all the kitty paws on my current project.
Now I am in a quandary as to what color to do the background.

Any suggestions?

As you can see, there has been some progress in my life, but, wow I sure don't feel like it.  Feels like my wheels are stuck in mud!

  1. I'm sorry you're feeling so cooped up!

I think black as a background would really make those colors pop, but a tan could be interesting, too!

    Good luck to Dottie!

  2. Karen,
    I hope you heal quickly!!!
Great rugs. Maybe dirty white behind the kitty and different shades of black behind the cats paws.
Happy Easter to you and dad.
    Pug hugs :)

  3. I'm like you and can't sit still either. Makes for a horrible patient! ;-)
I hope you are up and about really soon.
I would go with an antique black background as well. It looks great so far. I love all the colors in the paws.
That's good news about Dottie! But, sad for you.
Happy Easter to you and your family,
    Courtney

  4. Karen, I know how you feel about having to use crutches. It happened to me when a heavy wet ceramic mold full of wet clay weighing about 75 pounds fell and crushed my foot. I had a walking cast put on but still needed crutches. The worse was the itch under the cast.

Your rugs look all very nice. I would use an antique black for the background or a mixture of black.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Dottie's new home.

Happy Easter to you and yours. Julia

  5. Hi Karen,
I know you will be up and running in no time! I'd say you have made a LOT of progress! I LOVE both of your rugs!! Are you going to keep these or sell them? Boy, I'd have a really hard time parting with them!
The antique black mixture of textures would really make that kitty and paws pop!

I have mixed feeling about you parting with Dottie too! But I know she needs a forever home so I must get over that!

    Have a Blessed Easter!
    Hugs!

  6. Well, on a positive note, your hooking projects are so pretty. I'm sure it's a pain to be cooped up but you probably needed a rest.
    Happy Easter.
